Funding field trips in Asia
Though there is a section in this master’s notebook devoted to funding opportunities, scholarships and research grants, you will find here below a of various sources of funding. These are proposed by French research centres in whole Asia:
- The French School of Asian Studies (EFEO) offers field grants and scholarships accessible from Master 2 onwards, for a period of one to six months. These allocations involve staying in EFEO centres.
- The Association Jeunes Etudes Indiennes (AJEI) monitors funding opportunities, scholarships and prizes for the those involved in academic activities in India. It also propose its own scholarship, in partnership with Shanti Travels.
- The Centre de sciences humaines (CSH), based in New Delhi (India), and the French Institute in Pondicherry (IFP), reserve their scholarships for doctoral students, but also offer internship opportunities.
- The Research Institute for Contemporary Southeast Asia (IRASEC), based in Bangkok, reserves their scholarships for doctoral students, but also offer internship opportunitie
- The Centre d’études français sur la Chine contemporaine (CEFCC), based in Hong Kong, Taipei and Beijing, offers mainly doctoral scholarships, but may sometimes host trainees in its Hong Kong and Taipei centres, for a period not exceeding 2 months.
- The French Institute for Central Asian Studies (IFEAC) is based in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) and has an office in Dushanbe (Tajikistan). Its mobility grants are reserved for doctoral students only.
- The French Archaeological Delegation in Afghanistan (DAFA) does not currently have a functioning website.
- The French Research Institute for Iran (IFRI) in Tehran reserves its mobility grants for doctoral students.
- The Maison Frenco-Japonaise (MFJ) in Tokyo seems to have turned away from these funding issues.
